Test your knowledge and challenge your assumptions in this interactive workshop on cookie banner compliance. The workshop starts with an overview of legal framework governing cookie banners, including the relationship between the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch Telecommunications Act (national implementation of the ePrivacy Directive). Using examples, we will assess which designs meet GDPR standards and which ones raise concerns due to dark patterns, misleading choices, or insufficient transparency. Participants will gain a clear understanding of when consent is required, what constitutes valid consent, and the key compliance requirements for cookie banners in the Netherlands. Participants are invited to bring their own cookie banners for live assessment session, creating an opportunity to learn from each other’s experiences and receive practical compliance recommendations.
